My grandmother is from Spain, and while I don't know her exact thoughts on Mexicans, I know she is a little bit racist, though she hides it well. That most likely has to do with her spending a good amount of her childhood living in a French colony if Africa as well.

Honestly though, I don't think Spaniards, at least those who don't live in Mexico, really have a strong opinion (positive or negative) on Mexicans. Actually, the only real ethnic group my grandmother dislikes are any from the Middle East, but that wasn't until after 9/11, and I only know this because she got upset when she found out I want to learn Arabic.

(I'm not racist, I'm not defending my grandmother's views, just trying to help answer the question.)

I'm half Spaniard and half Dominican, and I don't really think badly of Mexicans. Theyre just like any other group of people... not really and racism. Although I do hate when I say im "Spanish" and people automatically assume I'm mexican. Its rather annoying so I stick eith "Spaniard."

How divisive! I'm Spaniard as much as anyone whose country was ever invaded by the Armada...
anyway, why bother?
