I no longer care what George Bush says about Iraq. I have no reason to believe the troop surge decision was made to advance our countries interests.
He is politic only. No substance.

From my perspective, if any country decides they want to be the biggest, baddest dogs on the block ..and run things, then they need to expect ..to run things.
That'a what the USA has been doing in the world for some time now. Bush' Middle East bashing actually should go on for some time. Years. Decades. That's what we have set ourselves up for.
It's not all Bush's fault but plent is.
If we were not fighting there, we would be fighting here. That's the long and short of it. Better it be over there from my perspective.
The only way the world will live to be a better place is to overcome and hold down these rad, gotta get you killed types that come from that area.
These people don't quit until they are dead. They think death is a good dea. Given the live they live one can see that might be understandable.
If the Mid. East. folks and their kids had groovy stuff like we do, they probubly wouldn't be so interested in dying. Hey. live and let live. Like here, more or less. None of us here now will ever see that day though, assuming it comes.
If the Mid. East doesn't blow itself up and half the world with it, I will be surprised. The question is when? Bush as bad as he is, I think sees this and although I dislike the idea intensely, understand the position he is taking. Better to go down fighting than die like a dog, that backed away under pressure ...and then was killed off.

Definitely, the US needs to pursue a final and authoritative offensive, sweeping out the insurgents and rabblerousers if you will. We cannot play nice with these guys, and we have to launch a comprehensive and violent plan to destroy the roots of the insurgency through military action. So of course we need more troops, I feel like because of political domestic and international pressure we will probably sit on our tails over there until somebody decides we "made a mistake" and pull our troops out, and proving once again that the U.S., though far superior in technology and military might, will never stand up to a foe for long.

The real question is who doesn't think he is a making yet another huge mistake that will not get corrected until we get some one that is not trying to fight his daddy's war in office? I say we get our troops to include my husband out of there and let them fight it out. As far as terrorism we fight that on a different level. What does terrorism really have to do with Iraq anyways. We need to focus on Afghanistan Pakistan Iran and Syria and what we can do to weed out the terrorist without throwing other countries into a civil war.

President Bush has lost his mind! He wants to use our troops to intervene in what is essentially and Shiite-Sunni civil war in Iraq and unless the Shiites and the Sunnis agree to sit down and work out their differences to unify the country (which they are so far not inclined to do), then there is nothing we can do about it and we need to get of there.

Yes. I think we need to just get out of there and let their government handle it. Unfortunetly, we won't be out of Iraq until the new president takes the oath of office in about a year.

I think you would make it easier on everyone if you just asked who DOESNT think Bush is making a mistake...but then you might not get any replies.
