when i was on the pill it was fine at first but after a few weeks i started to get headaches and stomachache but its different with every individual. i had to put a reminder on my mobile because i would forget when to take it. i would recommend it because i never fell pregnant whilst on the pill and it may not cause u any symptoms such as headaches and so on. i would say just give it a try.

I've been taking the pill (Alesse) for about 6 years and I love it. My periods are shorter and not nearly as heavy as they use to be. The cramps practically faded away a few months after I started taking the pill. I never had a problem with weight gain. I'm pretty much still the same size I was when I first started taking the pill. As far as my mood goes it's also still the same. Since I've been on the pill my periods are regular. I know what day and even around the time of day that my period is suppose to start. I've never had a problem remembering to take it because I take it at night right before I go to bed. I know the pill may not be for all women but my experience with it has been very good. Hope you give it a try. Good luck!

If you take it as per the directions it is great. You need to get into a routine and take it at the same time everyday.

If, when you are about to have sex, just think to your self "Did I take my pill?" and not proceed until you can remember taking it, then you should be OK.

It is great for regulating your period. I know the exact day I was going to come on, even down to it being the morning, afternoon or evening.

I did experience weight gain on the pill, but my diet was not the best, so I cannot blame the pill entirely.

Hope that helps.

I used the pill for eleven years (a low dose one) with no problems. However, when I was thirty-six I had a thrombosis and this was given as the main cause. I would recommend having a blood test to make sure you do not have Leiden Factor V or similar condition before going on a pill. Ask your GP

I was on the pill for 13 years and it suited me very well. It stopped my long periods, and stopped me getting pregnant when that was very important to me.
When I came off the pill, I went straight back to 28 day cycles and even though I had expected my periods to be awful again, they were very normal.
As soon as I tried to get pregnant (2 months later) I did and I'm now 6 months pregnant.
My experience is a good one. Not everyone is the same, but I loved it and will be straight back on it as soon as I've finished breastfeeding.

I think the answer to this lies in the fact that it is so popular and widely used by the female population.
There are many different types of pill these days so you can get advice from your doctor as to which one would suit you best.
I personally have the depo injection but that is because I'm too scatty to remember to take a pill every day!

You need to make sure you are on a brand that agrees with you - I was on Micro something 30 to start with, and it gave me a monster 28 period - not pleasant!
Once you've found the one that agrees best with you though, it is very convenient, since you know exactly when you will be on/off and they're much lighter too. It can also do good things for your skin etc.
However, I came off mine in the end because it was getting bad migraines, and they were also making me depressed.
I think as long as you are careful to take them properly, you will find more good points than bad. Good luck!

They seem to work fine but she was terrible at remembering to take them. Ended up having to flick them down her neck. Her periods were shorter always on time and never moody. She's not on the pill anymore we have two children but boy is she a moody cow!

in my experience of using the pill, it's not too bad, however, if you forget to take a pill or are ill, then it causes problems for protection., i would always recommed using a condom as well as taking the pill, because its not terribly relaible. have you considered the implant?its hassle free!
