go to a hardware store and look for "Goo Gone", its an adhesive remover, removes gum, glue, and anything sticky

As far as I know, you're not going to get the glue to dissolve without damaging the wood, so I would suggest the slow way of using a wide scraper and VERY carefully tapping at the edges until it is gone. Try using some Old English or other slightly tinted oil to blend in the spot. Good luck!

it all depends what type of wood it is,some harsh methods or solvents can damage the wood.if the wood is stained with a finish use a hot rag and go over it till it comes out.if you use a harsh solvent you can ruin the finish..if the wood is just bare,then try some medium grit sandpaper and some mineral spirits and work it in,and lightly sand it and it should come out..sorry i couldnt be of more assistance thats all i know

Try removing it by scraping with a fairly blunt object such as a screw driver or butter knife. If it doesn't get it all, try fine sandpaper (180 or even 220).

get a rag, wet it, put in the microwave, careful removing the rag from microwave, rag will be hot, and rub on glue, it should soften and shuld come up.

if is water based glue you can sand it or if is another kind you can use goo gone, it works pretty good

if it dosn't peel off you should sand it
