Can be expensive...prohibitively so, especially if you've got an existing condition (but I guess you already know that).

I have just fixed up some travel insurance and I'm 71, one year worldwide cover other than USA, Canada and Caribbean for a total cost of £148-50 giving both good cover and good public liability cover. The first quote was £178-00 and I objected and it came down I knew there is a loading when you reach 65 but was told there is another one at 70! some companies just tell you "Sorry no" I traded with Lloyds TSB and I seem to have lost the phone 0800 number but they can be contacted on the internet, all I did was type in "Lloyds TSB" and when I picked up the phone number I swapped over to the phone as mistakes appear when I use a computer. Ask for ARRAN. (And haggle). (The firm where I booked my holidays charges £59-00 for ten days

Saga do a good insurance, check out their website, as they offer rates for older people and also taking pre-existing conditions. However, they do have a trip limit, I think of 30 days - if you're going for longer then try MRL Insurance Direct. You cn find them on a google search engine and they do longer periods, I think a 3 month trip is the max, which is a better deal for a retired person who can take longer holidays.
Hope this helps.

You could try SAGA or Direct Line. I had no problems getting travel insurance for my 80 year old father last year. You may have a problem for US and Canada because of high health care costs, but otherwise shouldn't be difficult

Hi, I recommend you at least get a quote from Insure For All. I don't know the details of your planned trip but 2 weeks travel to Europe came in at £25.49

I know that CSA travel protection is a good company. The price does change daily but you can always call them up and get a free quote. They do have coverage for trip cancellation and interruption, personal item (baggage), if your bags are delayed, they have have medical coverage, Medical transportation coverage and this is all on one plcy.!!
