"Mind control" isn't possible. People have their own complex natures and individual will. You don't really control people, but you can influence their behavior, become one of many factors in their decision making. If you want to sway your professors your way, I recommend that you be the person who meet their needs. As a former professor, I can tell you that the main thing they need and want in a professor-student relationship is a student with a sincere interest in the subject and a passionate desire to learn. A student who does the work as best as he or she can and strives to learn from it and do better. Maybe this isn't what you wanted to hear, but there's nothing like "mind control" woowoo in the real world. Just actions that have consequences. And you have control over your actions.
