When living with my girlfriend i found out she didnt have a TV licence. I was working with her to pay bills and stuff and she doent have much money at all. I was concerned that if she got caught no having a licence she would get a £1000 fine which she could not afford. So Imade enquiries for her and got her a TV licence which she pays £5 per week for. I felt this was an excellent solution as she definately wouldnt be able to fork out the fine. She says that she would of got one once they have knocked on her door and told her she needed one, using the excuse she has just moved in. Was i controlling her or looking out for her best interests?

You don't get fined when they knock on the door, they give you the chance to pay. I got caught a few months back. Was ok, had three free years before that so no complaints. Should have just let her do what she wanted. £5 a week isn't much though.

I think you were just looking out for her, sounds ok to me. Perhaps she would like to know what you were going to do though, as her pride might be hurt - after all, she now needs to make payments to you, maybe she doesn't like this much. But I'm sure your heart was in the right place on that.

Your girlfriend is living in a dream world if she thought she could get away with that one. You were looking out for her on this one but in future let her sort things out for herself. (Unless you are going to end up in debt because of her half soaked ways.)

Judging from the other question I answered combined with this one, yes, you are controlling. You think you can just make decisions for her without consulting her.
I hope she comes to her senses and soon.
You don't even HAVE a girlfriend, do you?

well if she had not alot of money i would've done the wait till they called and said i'd just moved in they dont automattically fine you they call first to give you the chance.
So you kinda give her more debt but at the same time she is legal with her tv lol .

You were being very kind and just thinking of her best interests. Not controlling at all.
