I have always used paypal for things on EBAY as well as other smaller sites. I have never had an issue with them as long as you don't fall for some BS e-mail that looks like it comes from paypal and asks for your private information.

You're gonna hear a lot of hate sometimes when it comes to PayPal. But in my opinion, most of these people just don't know how real world business works. PayPal is an excellent, if not the best service, as long as you cover yourself. Always follow their terms of service and protect yourself by following their seller protection and buyer protection policies and you will rarely have a reason to complain.

I've been using PayPal since 97. No complaints. One time I was robbed at gunpoint and was forced to give away my ATM codes to my credit card which was funded by my PayPal balance. All I had to do was pass them a police report and they covered me for my losses, about 400$.

Used them on eBay. I sell a lot of 10-40$ items. No problems there either. PayPal is the most widely used service right now. They are very reliable and I would highly recommend them.

The reason why some people don't like PayPal is because when they sell or buy, they don't follow the policies that are there to protect them. Then if they get ripped off, they are unable to recover their money or merchandise. As long as you are careful, there is no reason you should end up in this situation.
