Just watched another ridiculous episode of 'Diagnosis Murder' where Dr Mark Sloan was gassed with laughing gas. In the scene he's laughing like a pratt with the usual hammy acting...

Just wondered if laughing gas really exists??

It's the gas Nitrous Oxide and is mostly used by dentists as a sort of sedative to help relax patients. Recreationally it's jsut termed "nitrous" and can sometiems be found at parties in presurized tanks. Basically it gives you a light headed feeling and things do seem pretty darn funny.

Nitrous Oxide causes sensations of euphoria and often results in the one taking it to suffer bouts of giggling. Laughing gas is it's nickname.
