Not only that, but having lived in mountains, high plateaus and northern latitudes I've had to dig my way out when snow drifted above the tops of the doors and windows.
But it was toasty warm inside-- and no drafts at all -- because they were all sealed by ice and snow!!

Yes, three years ago. I didn't mind the windows froze shut, wouldn't want to open them in the cold, but the doors that's another story

Yes. Brrr... Dragon would like to be at her house right now, instead of at work. She could be wrapped up in a dozen blankets and snuggling with her puppy. Stoopid work.

That's happened on occasion in the house I grew up in, as well as the water pipes freezing. Call me krazy, but part of me misses those days! I've been in Florida WAY too long.....

Yes, in fact it was when I lived in W.V,1989 it was 30 below zero. I think everything was froze shut.
