See if your mom can take you to the Clinique counter at a local department store. The representative can talk to you and your mom about skincare (more important than makeup) - she should also be able to tame your brows and give your pointers on makeup (maybe some lip gloss) that will look natural. Ultimately, it will be up to your folks if you can wear makeup to school, but maybe they will let you wear it for a special occasion, like a school dance, recital, or family get-together. Good luck, if you approach your mom with a reasonable, mature position, you will have a better chance than if you demand or say "all my friends are doing it", tantrums generally won't work either - remember you want your parents to think that you are mature enough to wear make-up.

I don't think that sixth grade is too you, I remember many girls plucking and or waxing their eyebrows about that time. Really what it comes down to, is would you feel more comfortable and be happier if you started now. You can go to a salon or often a nail shop has someone who can do your eyebrows for you and tell you how to keep them up. As for the eye makeup, I would recommend waiting another year or so just because you wont want to have to buy the products now since its money you can save and no one really starts putting make up on often until high school. However if its a dance or a special occasion and you want to have fun and look nice its always good to have something you can wear on those occasions so maybe pick out some natural looking makeup up, like eyeshadow and lip gloss and a blush and wait to to buy the more serious stuff like concealers and bases . In the end if you feel comfortable having your eyebrows done and wearing make up now than go for it.

when you turn 15. you shouldnt be concerned with your eyebrows at your age. you want to look young and fresh and have that girl next door look and enjoy it while you can. once you start plucking your eyebrows and putting on makeup the fun of it will last a few years and then you will wish you were in sixth grade again. so keep it fresh and natural looking for now. once you do start plucking your eyebrows you should go to a salon to have them done professionally and watch how they do it and ask them questions. this is only if you cant afford to have them done professionally all the time.

Leave your eyebrows alone. Unless you have a monobrow, plucked eyebrows look stupid, especially if it's not done right. Ditto about the makeup too. Why are you rushing into this stuff already??? How about you grow up first, then worry about the other stuff. Your body is obviously going to change over the next few years.

When plucking your eyebrows, it depends on how bushy your eyebrows are. I NEEDED to pluck them, but didn't get to until I was in 8th grade. My conservative mom wanted me to pluck/wear make up until I was 18 but my aunt KNEW i NEEDED a pluck so my aunt just did it.
If you really need to pluck, have an older sister/older girl cousin/aunt/mom do it. NEVER do it yourself, if you've never done it before. Or if there's no one to do it, have some one take you to a salon and get it professioanlly done. If your eyebrows are ok and not bushy at all, you don't need to.
As for make up, you don't need it. At 6th grade, you still have good skin.. maybe starting to get pimples but you don't need to clog your pores even more. My mom didn't let me wear make up till I was 18, like I said before.. but even throughout high school/junior high.. I seemed to be the one getting less pimples/break outs and having better skin than most. It could be because I rarely used make up or I just have naturally good skin?
But if you are going to use some form of make up, just use lip gloss 'cause at this age, you really don't need make up.

you should get them plucked now if you are self-concious about your eyebrows. I pluck my eyebrows about every week or so. I started wearing makeup when i was in grade 6. Just some eyeshadow and lipgloss though.

One of my daughters has a unibrow, in the sixth grade I took her to get them waxed. It really looks nice when you get it done right. Talk to your parents and make sure they know how you feel. Once you get your eyebrows done you may see such a big difference that you maynot want to start wearing any makeup, but if you do try lip gloss, and very soft pastel eye shadows. If you wear to much makeup at this point in your life, and when you get older and go to extra functions you will never have a new face

First off, talk to your mother or parent to see if they think its ok. When I look back on my old pictures from school, I see I would have looked much better if someone had told me to take care of those eyebrows.
The best way though, is to go to a salon and have them waxed. When I did start plucking my own (7th grade), I messed them up badly and today I am paying for it.
Now about your makeup. No more than alittle powder and blush. Too young to overdo it.

Oh honey - not yet. Wait until at least until 15-16 - the form of your adult face will begin to take shape at that point. If you start plucking and tweezing right now it will look funny before your cheek bones and adult features develop.
Your skin is just beginning to mature and if you start wearing makeup now you'll have large pores and lots of blackheads by the time you're 18.
You're probably around 11-12 right now so I would work on my body. Get lots of exercise and sleep well - don't become a couch potato! Work on taking care of yourself on the inside instead of painting yourself up on the outside!
Good luck to you!

You don't "have" to pluck your eyebrows at any time but if you don't like the look of yours then you might try getting them waxed. Bring a picture of a style you like to a waxing salon - almost any beauty or nail salon. After they're waxed into shape you'll be able to maintain the shape with tweezers but BE CAREFUL because if you overpluck it can take a very long time to grow out your brows. You also don't "have" to wear makeup but if you want to and it's okay with your parents, just find another girl whose makeup you like and ask her how she does it. Most girls would be pleased to be asked and happy to help you! But go easy because girls who wear too much makeup look trashy, whether they are twelve or forty years old.
