Not looking for cigarette lighter plugs - told they can't handle alot of current. Need something thats easily accessible off the shelf. Thought about using regular 120 plugs and receptacles, but I also plan on wiring an inverter circuit to it and didnt want to accidentally plug something into the wrong plug. I will be trucking the battery to and from the camp so I need something that connects easily. I plan on wiring the 12 volt accessories with their owns special plug instead of using the cigarette lighter ends.

Off the shelf use a 220 plug / receptacle (it is different enough and can carry 20 to 50 Amps.)
For the battery use heavy duty clamps used for jump-starting cars.
Instead of moving that battery to and from the cottage, install a solar charging system (found at Auto zone)
Quick, simple, cheap and efficient !!!!
Good luck!

There's a plug for that. I b don't know what it's called. It looks like a V with the bottom snipped off. You might try a Marine Supply Store

Just a rather uneducated shot.......you might try contacting a music store and finding out the current carrying capacity of SPEAKON cables and connectors. They are mechanically robust and have twist- to -lock connectors.

good luck
