That's really respectable of you to make that point -- it means you're not closed-minded and just willing to follow the trend and believe whatever you're told. I'm an atheist and straight, and it makes 100% sense to say that the Christians who say this are hypocritical. It doesn't follow any logic whatsoever.
It's kind of strange how a lot of the Catholics etc. (I'm not pinpointing Catholics, I'm just saying... since many often tend to do this) attempt to convert others and push their beliefs concerning gays -- among other things -- on us... it just makes us want to stray further from that religion. The attempts completely backfire, so why do people keep trying?
So yeah, I just wanted to say that I think that it's really respectable that you are able to follow your religion yet be open-minded enough to step back and actually think about it before you agree to it.
Peace

They say gays go to hell because homosexuality is a sin. It's true, homosexual acts, while no worse than other sins (for all sins are equal), will condemn you to an eternity in hell (assuming the sinner doesn't pray for forgiveness) and the only way those straight sinners you mentioned would get to hell faster is if they die faster. true, the whole "god made us all, god loves us all" is hypocritical when you look at this situation ... alot of the things in the bible are hypocritical, that's christianity. incidently, that's also why im not a christian. if it confuses you that much i'd give the religion up, my view is - if it doesnt make sense, it's probably not real.

Because theyre raving hypocrites! If God did make us all then he made gays too, so we are all God's children. If he was gonna throw us all into the gates of hell why make us the way we are? I think it's a sad excuse to judge a person. It comes down to lack of understanding and fear a lot of the time and the stigma that has been attached to it from many years ago when people were too afraid to come out and lived very unhappy lives Why couldn't people turn theyre hatred towards pedophiles theyre the freaks and they should get thrown into the gates of hell!

There are many homosexual and previously homosexual Christians. Just considering you're a Christian does not imply you're going to in no way have emotions like that or be tempted to reside a homosexual tradition - however it is no special than some other sexual sin. We are not meant to have intercourse external of marriage. We are not meant to devote incest. We are not meant to have homosexual intercourse. We are not meant to lust after any individual we aren't married to. And so on. It's a tough factor, however it is simply a further of the numerous temptations Satan has dreamed up. With God's support, a homosexual individual CAN get better normalcy. I suppose that even though a individual has sexual urges closer to a member in their possess intercourse, they are able to be a Christian. They simply have got to manage the ones urges, similar to some other individual has to manage their sexual urgers closer to the opposite intercourse. It all comes right down to the identical factor. God in no way stated that blue eyes are evil. He DID say that homosexuality is evil. But, due to the fact that He loves each unmarried individual, he wishes to provide us ALL a risk to repent and reside in line with His will. He loves homosexual individuals. He does not love what they do. Likewise, he loves liars. He does not love what they do. And I do NOT suppose that any individual is born homosexual, any further than a individual is born alcoholic.

it IS hypocritical. these people claim to be Christian, and yet they pass judgment on others and preach hatred and intolerance. they "use" the Bible to justify being a bigot. exactly how are they being a good Christian? I think they've earned themselves a first-class ticket to hell. I'd say they were sad and pathetic, were probably raised by bigots, probably did very poorly in school and had poor social skills. I'm sorry, when I was growing up I learned in church and Sunday school the Christianity is about love and acceptance, and that God created and loves us all. I God didn't create homosexuals, there wouldn't be any!

they luv to play God whenever they can. the bible originally said that's homosexuality is unnatural. so leviticus schmiticus. john 3:16 'For God So Loved The World That He Gave His Only Begoten Son To Die For Us, So That Whosoever Believeth In Him, Shall Not Perish, But Have Eternal Life'. notice there r no if's ands' or but's in that verse. another i bring to yer attention is mark 5:36 'Be Not Afraid, Only Believe'. besides, y would God punish us fer something we were born with. as long as u believe in God U R SAVED! i'm not saying that it's okay to sin, but by tha grace of God and since Jesus died on tha cross 4 our sins. i've heard from people that in the bible it states 'faith without works is nothing.' fooey! i've never read it.

Many reasons. For one, they want to make themselves appear better then them. Also, they want to scare gays into becoming heterosexual, which from what I understand, attempts to force gays into being heterosexual almost always fails. Fear is a pretty powerful tool if used correctly and it's usually combined with God.
Let's face it, they usually say almost anyone that isn't like them in their beliefs will go to hell. They go by the "one true path".

There are many different reasons why some people will say this.
bigots looking for justification for their hatred
some believe being gay is against the bible but they are reading misinterpreted passages of the bible or passages that were nullified by Jesus' words.
many reasons...
