I don't think they mean that type of minority (in numbers), if that's the case then of course u can.

What are the details of the scholarship. If it is for being a minority at a particular educational institution, sure, why not. (i.e. you are attending a historically black college and they are giving scholarships to other ethnicities that attend)

If the minority scholarship is particulary earmarked for
what is considered and proven to be traditionally what is considered as minority, (most higher educational institutions have more whites than any other ethnic groups) then no.

Not at all. But, if you really want to get the most out of it, you have to do your homework. My two suitemates just transferred from a black college, they are both white. Well, Amy, the first girl applied for a minority college there on the basis that she was white. Alex on the other hand applied for minority scholarships for being irish, german, and italian. Alex got two out of three and went to school for free. Amy...poor thing...got one and couldnt afford to stay at that school.

Good luck

Ok you should get a scholarship if your parents truly can't afford to pay. Otherwise why would you want to take away from another person who might not otherwise have an opportunity to attend college?

Are you attempting to get a free ride so you or your family don't have to buckle down -- or are you in need?

There's a big, huge difference between the two.

The minority would be country wide so you could check the statistics and see if white people are in fact a minority in your country.

No. I wouldn't think so, but good luck with that one. It would be nice if white people in your situation could get a minority scholarship.

Go for it! There are so many White people who attend "historically Black colleges" such as Morehouse or Xavier for example, and most of them received scholarships because they are considered minorities (and for academic merit of course). Many people don't realize that it goes both ways. So go for it and good luck in all your endeavors!

yea because ur not the minority in this country, but i get what your saying!!!! like if u were in africa and they had a minority scholarshiop then yea u could apply for it!!!!!

just think in like 50 years, u guys wont have to complain about affirmative action because u will qualify for it by then, if i were the majority of a country i wouldnt mind giving things to minorities, it makes them feel more welcome!!!!!

You are only a minority at your school, not in society. Therefore you would not be able to apply for that scholarship.
