One thing to remember, its the coldest month of the year in South Africa, for the seasons are reversed in the Southern Hemisphere. If you dont mind that, then its fine to visit in July.

If you are planning to come to SA in July, I would strongly recommend that you go to Durban. July is winter in SA, yet the weather in Durban in July is great and even hot enough to go to the beach! It is also not jam packed with people in July as it would be in December! Hope you have a great trip! :)

It depends what you want to achieve. If you want warm weather, then your best option in July will be Durban and surrounds or the Southern Cape (Places like Mossel Bay, George, Knysna or Plettenberg Bay). But Durban would still be the best weather-wise. Johannesburg is highland and very cold at that time. Cape Town is cold and wet!

Well it is winter here then, In JHb the days are cold, and windy and short. Not madly pleasent. But in Durban the weather is mild, you can still go out in like a long shirt and jeans and be warm. It is always nice to be here summer or winter!

If you're planning to go to the Kruger National Park,I would definitely go in July because it's not so hot then(in summer temperatures reach 42 degrees Celcius easily)
