Best thing you can do is leave it for a while. Shaving while you still have ingrown hairs will make them worse.
Give it a week or so, then shave again. And use a shave gel and a sharp razor - a razor that's been blunted a little will result in you having to go over areas twice as much, and this just irritates the skin more.
You might want to try waxing. There's still a possibility of ingrown hairs, but much less than shaving.
If you have quite obviously ingrown hairs, use a pair of slant ended tweezers to release the hairs from the skin. They are likely to get infected if left, as they're in a warm, humid area, and bacteria grows easily.

What you have probably isn't acne, it's more likely they are ingrown hairs. That is a common problem with shaving the bikini area because the hair is so course and it irritates the hair follicle when the razor goes over it. One thing you can do is gently exfoliate the area with a washcloth or soft sponge. Apply a sensitive skin lotion for a couple of days and try not to shave for a couple of days. Make sure when you do shave, you are using a good sharp razor. Dull blades cause ingrowns and irritated follicles. Use a shaving cream also, to make a smoother shave. Good luck.

It's not acne, it's ingrown hairs. When you shave down there, you should also use this stuff that stops ingrown hairs from forming. I forget what its called, but you can usually find it near the other hair-removing things in the supermarket. Bikini-ease or something.

I had the same problem but I started using this stuff that helps keep me from getting the ingrown hairs down there. You can usually find them in any kind of supermart, like walmart or kmart or other places similar to those.
