If you have not done so yet, look at Al Gore's movie, as it certainly leaves little doubt. But if you want something web based, that actually uses all the capability if the web try this link http://www.latimes.com/news/local/oceans/la-oceans-series,0,7842752.special
While it is not as universal as Gore's, it is if anything, quite a bit scarier. And that much of the entire world plankton layer is now particles of plastic, would be really hard to blame on natural processes!

Back in the 70's and 80's when water pollution was first brought to the attention of the American public ....No one wanted to believe that either....at first.
The Industry that was largely responsible for the pollution REALLY didn't want to be held accountable. They didn't want to spend the unknown MILLIONS of dollars it would take to affect decades of pollution practices.
The same is going on here!
The "cycles" people keep referring to occur over THOUSANDS AND MILLIONS of years NOT 1 Century!!
We are affecting Global Warming!!!
It's just that the average American isn't comfortable with change!
To address their own contribution to the problem is difficult and most won't....to be frank!
To deny a problem really exists means they don't have to change their behaviors!!

Fact: the world is getting warmer.
Fact: it is caused by industrialization. (although this should not be a preeminent question by policy makers)
Fact: it is happening faster than was supposed before 2006.
This is a political board, so here's how I think the policy makers should be looking at it:
Is it happening? If it is, does it matter? If it does, what can we do about it?
The politicians and journalists that interject the "what's causing it?" question above these three are trying to divert the public's attention.

I think all you global warming tree huggers should get a grip and read more. Scientist have said forever that the Earth has cycles of temperature. It happens of hundreds of years. We are simply in the middle of another cycle. As far as turning life upside down. It has hap pend time and again of billions, I repeat BILLIONS of years. Species go extinct and new species take over. Its going to happen again, and it would probably be best if humans were next on the extinction list.

Look around and you will see the effects of global warming. The polar icecape are melting. The average temperature of this planet has been rising for years. I'm sure there are others but I can't think of them at the moment.

If you research the science, then it is undeniable fact that global warming exists and humans are part of it. I tend to believe scientists.

FACT: The globe is getting hotter.
FICTION: it is caused by humans.
Do some research on the medieval warm period. About 700 years ago, the earth had a 500 year period of increased temperature. Now, 700 years later, the temperature is increasing again. It happened once, why wont it happen again?
The earth goes through temperature cycles, just like the cycles of EVERYTHING ELSE on earth. Except, this time, we think we have a cause of the warming, and everyone gets into a frenzy. Do you really think getting an extra 20 MPG on your car will cool the ENTIRE EARTH? No. We just have to live with a warmer climate, or find a way to deal with it better. We cannot stop it, and I am going to keep driving my 15MPG SUV until the gas quits coming out of the ground, about 200 years from now.

If it's snowing in New York City, then there is no global warming. If it's 70 degress in January in New York City, then we have a global warming problem. I don't think anyone knows for sure, most people just follow public opinion and what the liberal bias media drills in their head.
