Stockholm is 9 hours ahead of San Francisco (same day) So, if it is 6:00 PM in Stockholm it would be 9:00 AM in San Fran.

That would be true if California is on standard time, which it is this time of year. From March to October California would be on Pacific Daylight Time which turns the clocks one hour ahead. If Stockholm or Sweden does not use Daytlight Time, that would make the difference only 8 hours during those summer months.
