Can I claim a tuition and fees deduction if it was paid via loan or financial aid?

I was just curious if I still qualify for this deduction.

IF you paid it via loan, then yes --- because you'll have to repay that loan down the road.

If it was through a grant or scholarship that you'll never have to repay, then no, you can't deduct the tuition.
