Israel created 1948, in the land of Palestine, as desire for a Jewish homeland. Trying to prevent a repeat of the Holocaust. Land split 45% Palestinians 55% Israeli, why? What right did the west have to give away Palestinian land. To appease guilt? Surely The Jewish homeland should have been in Europe, land given by those countries responsible for the Holocaust? Do not doubt that Israel has a right to exist but why in Palestine?

Ancient homeland, but must get over 1948 which is it? By the way by that rationale, Welsh should be given back England. Welsh where the ancient Britons expelled by the Romans.

Israel is not a prosperous country, it receives 2.6 billion US dollars each year in aid.
If that aid was shared amongst the middle eastern countries imagine the effect. Might even win hearts and minds away from the Fundamentalists?

Palestine was originally a part of Ancient Israel. When Israel
established its homeland in 1948 it was in the land of Palestine.
If the Palestinians would agree to work with Israel instead of against her and agree that Israel has a right to exist in the Middle East as a democratic government instead of trying to destroy her - there could be a true peace in the Middle East.

And by what virtue was it "Palestinian Land" that the West was allegedly giving away? I thought it belonged to the British Empire and to the Ottoamn Empire before that?
Do you consider those occupations as well?
If so, then what about Jordan? Should the Palestinians have lived under Jordanian occupation? Do you consider that an occupation?
The truth of the matter is that there have been plenty of opportunities to resolve the issue but Arabs have never taken them since for them the issue does not seem to be the issue of being "occupied" by another country or empire but of the fact that Israel exists.

is israel not the ancestrial homeland of the jews? it was the u.n which made the decision and maybe all this war would have not come about if egypt, jordan and a few others had tried a little harder to negotiate then all would be happy. the only reason israel went beyond it's initial borders< pre 1967, was because they were about to be invaded. palestine could end it if all fighting and attacks were stopped. i say it is sad to think of all the sons and daughters that could have grown to enjoy life but didn't because of the inability to think past 1948. so sad.not just for palestine but for every single person.

Its too late to go back over this old ground as Israel now exists. At best, we can hope for peace within a two state solution. Sadly the Palestinians will be the losers.

They should not live under occupation but there are so many extremists among them that they elected a government bound to destroy Israel and deny the Holocaust even existed. If moderates among them prevail THEY WILL HAVE THEIR STATE SIDE BY SIDE WITH ISRAEL. If their business sense trumps their hot heads they could even hammer a deal for a great deal of compensation for their lost land. Living in peace with a prosperous Israel should not be seen as a liability but as a great opportunity to prosper alongside each other.

There really would nicely be a fact or 2 hiding between the anti-Israel monolog. i imagine that maximum human beings right here have adequate intelligence and knowledge to relegate this rant to the trash heap. let me basically say one element, which pertains to the numerous thesis right here. The declare that Israel is occupying Gaza, is basically yet another little bit of voluntary amnesia years after Israel pulled out of Gaza. .

the palestinians should be given back isreal, it was set up as a foot hold in the middle east to use as a control point for american jewish backed occupation. a back door in the mediterrain theatre. if it was a religious thing the Isrealites would do what the book says and keep on walking. i think iran going to rub them out anyway in a nuclear strike using medium range weapons. well that what the cia said when i was in central america

I agree with you, they now have 2 homelands Israel and America. if they were smart they would just leave. Its just a matter of time before they get kicked out, might take 100 or 200 years though

It's rare for everyone to ever recognize that notion, so I respect you for realizing this. Yes, the Holocaust was a horrible tragedy, but the Palestinians should NOT have to suffer for it. The United Nations literally came in, tore the land in half, and told the Palestinians to deal with it.
And people wonder why they are frustrated and angry at the West?
