I found out last Tuesday I am pregnant (5 weeks) and two days after my period was due I started spotting what looked like implantation bleeding? Is that possible? Can the test detect the Hgc hormone before implantation?

Congratulations! An HcG test cannot detect the hormone until implantation occurs and the embryo begins producing HcG. At 5 weeks, if you're sure of the dates, you can trust a BFP. You can spot around the time your period would have occurred. Many women do. You only need to worry if you bleed a lot, possibly with clotting, or if you have cramping or a severe backache, especially if the cramping is on one side. If you're spotting, don't worry!

yes! I had implantation bleeding at about 5 weeks after three of my pregnancies were discovered through home pregnacy tests. The hormone levels will continue to rise throughout your pregnancy and have nothing to do with implantaion.

Best Wishes and congrats!

It wouldn't be implatation bleeding, however small amounts of spotting can be perfectly normal.

If the blood is fresh (bright red) it is probably from your cervix and you should not be concerned.

If the blood is very old (dark brown) you are likely just cleaning out some old stuff and it isn't concerning.

And from my midwife: you only need to worry if you have blood and cramping. Either on their own is generally not a problem.
