If it is a Black Westell 6100, you will need to put it into "bridged mode" hold down the small reset button on the back for 30 seconds. after adding the router, go to it's admin page and put in your username as _____@bellsouth.net and your phone number (without the area code) as the password.

check your connections:

Ethernet cable from the LAN port on the modem goes to the WAN port on the router.

* if you are using xDSL check your documentation from the ISP. you may need to supply a user name and password to create the connection or enter PPoE configuration data.

reboot your network starting with the modem. when the Link light is ready power up the router. when the router has finished initializing power up your PC's.

go to Start > Run > type in ipconfig /all

check to make sure that all fields are getting information from the DHCP server in the router.

try to ping the default gateway address, if successful you should be able to access the Internet from your web browser.
