I sometimes dream that I'm having sex with another girl and cheating on my girlfriend.Today I had a dream I was having sex with an old girlfriend of mine and that I was planning to dump my girlfriend to stay with this girl, I love my girlfriend sooooo much and I would never ever do that to her, I am always loyal and she is the only girl for me, but sometimes when I have these dreams it really bothers me, I don't know why. Any suggestions?

dreams are a way of exploring "what if"s. What if you weren't with your girlfriend? What if you weren't faithful? What if you were with someone else? What would it be like, how would your life change?

These are normal thoughts for anybody in a relationship, no matter how solid your relationship or how happy you are. Your relationship is a decision you made, and no matter how good the decision was, there were of course other choices. You wouldn't be human if you didn't realize that.

Dreams are a harmless, healthy way of exploring all your feelings about something, and resolving your fears and doubts.

I'm like you - in a very solid, happy relationship, and I am very faithful. I've had dreams about sex with my ex and leaving my boyfriend to go back to my ex. Totally unrealistic, something I would never consider doing.

but you aren't responsible for your dreams. There is nothing wrong with having a dream in which you behave out of character. It's actually a healthy thing. Take it for what it is and don't let it worry you.

Of course I also don't need to point out, don't discuss this with your girlfriend ;)

I remember a Baptist minister who would say that thinking it (i.e. dreaming it) is just as bad as the sin itself. I disagree, however. I dream about having sex with different people quite often. I do not know where their faces come from and sometimes they are the same sex. I find them erotic if I can remember them...often share them with my bf and it enhances the physical intimacy. I have told my bf at times to see me (imagine me) as someone else at times just in case variety really is the spice of life... Don't DO it just use it as a sex toy...

Dreams are dreams, and dreams mean nothing. I have sex dreams all the time, sometimes with my husband sometimes with people I know, and sometimes with people I don't know or have never seen before.

Your subconcious is working over time.
A part of you still wants to be with the ex, so your dreams come to you in a hazy outlook of what if's and wants.

Just keep your dreams out of your personal life and your dreams will involve the one your with in time.

I have dreams like that all the time as well. I'm pretty sure my wife does also, it gets her all revved up and I'm the one that benefits. How cool is that! It's nothing to worry about.

I know it bugs you, but you are not responsible for what you dream. Keep it to yourself and keep loving your girlfriend when you are awake.

Thats natural. Even girls have dreams like that. As long as you never act on them.. you're ok. I'll bet your girl even has them... :)

It is normal. Don't worry about it.

Also, don't look at pornography, and don't act on the dreams you are having. Not much else you can do.
