Hi
I was wondering if anybody can help me with my situation. I am looking for advise from your experiences or people you know.

I recently graduated from UC riverside with a degree in Political Science and I do have plans of possibly returning to school for a masters but i haven't decided on a field yet. I was wonder how other people have broken into job with large corporations? i understand my degree isn't exactly directed toward the business world but i was hoping there may be people in similar situations.

Basically i would like to know how you started with your company and what type of entry level jobs have the greatest room for growth.

i have work experience and am currently employed but i don't feel it is something with very much room for growth.

So any tips or advice would be much appreciative.

Is there a guidance counselor at your school? A dean that deals with future employment?

My entree was making connections through my school -- specifically former graduates who still felt a strong connection to the school.

Get a list of alumni from your school, perhaps in the department that you graduated from. Start calling and writing letters and sending your resume.

The sad thing about going to college is you spend all that time and money getting an education but with no practical experience no one wants to hire you. If you don't spend all that time and money getting an education then you don't have a degree and no one wants to hire you.
