Ok, which is better? What I'm wondering about is the battery, the cheapest, and which one messes up less. About how much does each cost and where can I get a cheap one?

I owned an MP3 player that was operated with a SD card...kinda old school and the thing I didn't much like was the music program I had to use with it. I lost the software and ended up borrowing it from a co-worker just to get the program back on my PC to upload songs to it.
I have a Ipod Video now and got it for Christmas as an upgrade from my Ipod Nano. It is great! I can't say enough good things about how Ipod is easy to work, has great battery life, and products that just keep on complimenting their items. I listen to my Ipod in the car with an Itrip. I use I*tunes which allows my music from Lime*//wi/re to go right in and dropped right into the Ipod. I'd definently recommend it! For a cheap model go to apple.com and use the Store link to the refurbished products. You can get them cheap there and they hold the same warranty as a brand new Ipod...or eb/ay if your willing to risk it.

For one, an "iPod" is an "MP3 Player" (which also plays ACC and other formats).
Secondly, an "MP3 Player" plays music, An "MP3" is a file format mostly used for music and sound.
But to answer your question, an iPod is better than a regular MP3 Player, If you do not mind the huge price gap between the two, but you get what you pay for.

Some MP3 players..."don't believe the hype!" Especially that new ipod shuffle...no screen or tracks to follow. Ebay not so bad if you research your seller. I got a Insignia well cheap and it's nice.

I've got an iriver for about $150 for 1GB. I like it fine. I'm no expert on these things though. It just takes a triple A battery.
