Would they have problems with intamacy? My husband was adopted when he was 3 months old. We have been married for 7 years and I still feel like he keeps me an arms length away.

If a baby is emotionally neglected in the first year of life it can remain with them forever.Babies learn to love by being loved.Did you know that if you covered a baby's eyes for the first 9 months then they would be permanently blind? It's like this with emotional ability. If the right parts of the brain aren't stimulated they lose the ability.Your husband was adopted at 3 months.I'm sure he was very much loved,so I don't think that's his problem. He is more likely dealing with rejection issues. If your own mother doesn't want you,who will? All you can do is reassure him.And remember, some people are just naturally reserved regardless of their background.

They do say any child adopted or not can have attachment issues later in life if they are not nurtured from infancy, I was adopted and was raise with a family that always gave hugs and kisses so if I was going to have issues they took care of that.
