Because no America citizen has read anything that Washington or Lincoln wrote since High School. If Bush would read and understand Lincoln's Gettysburg Address, he would understand that our greatest President was working to finish the War and recombine the Nation instead of enlarging the War and dividing the people of the Nation. Lincoln and Washington did not brag about their war which is different from Bush. He goes from grandiosity to emotional retard in everyone of his speeches.
Columbus and King are just not Presidents, but if they had been, they both would be shinning examples of great Presidents while Bush is the standard beyond which no other president has fallen.

Come on! There was no "President Columbus". He actually never set foot on Continental North America, did you know that?

As for President King, when he was four years old his mother married Gerald R. Ford, Sr. and they changed his name.

Yes, they should unite all the militarist & nationalist stuff into one, and bring in new stuff like Peace Day, Fun Day and Global Cooperation Day, Anti-Poverty Day and Pollution Awareness Day instead.

That is dumb. Why do we begrudge the one holiday designated to honor a great African American leader?
