There is no requirement to pay any more taxes than the legal minimum. If you gave a winning lottery ticket to your church, the value of the winnings would be deductible. Make sure you pay the maximum allowed into your IRA or 401K, because you get to deduct money you are putting into your own account. If any of your investments loses money this year, sell it and take the loss, you can deduct up to $3,000 in capital losses in excess of any capital gains. Just some common and legal ideas. Stay away from tax shelters, they work only if you don't get caught.

Why would you want to? The money doesn't stop at the IRS - it goes to support all federal programs, including faith-based charities. So you are simply trying to find a workaround to end up doing the same thing.

In the case of lottery tickets, of course there is no problem, if you give the church the ticket each week BEFORE the numbers are drawn.

rattling do no longer complication lots you act like it relatively is the tip of the international or something. for as quickly as the yankee human beings made the spectacular selection purely provide it time to fall into place and Mccain had no genuine plan different than slicing taxes to those that did no longer choose tax cuts at each and every of the genuine wealthy. the traditional workers have been given an fairly small tax decrease and in case you made below 19k below mccains plan you get carry of a whopping 19 dollar tax spoil. what interior the hell are you able to purchase with 19 money? you are able to no longer even fill your gasoline tank with that! Mccains well being plan made easily no sense in any respect. how in the international can a guy or woman take care of 5k for a three hundred and sixty 5 days as a well being plan? that could want for use up in January by potential of a visit to the ER room then what do you do?

Get rich. That's good enough for a start.

If you want to spend twice as much on your lottery tickets, you'll only be twice an idiot. If you can't part with the tax money after winning the lottery, you shouldn't play, because you're losing 100% now until you win.

You would be taxed on income, and then when you made the charitable gift to your church it can be up to 100% of income.
If you just give the ticket to the church, it is covered by "the fruit of the tree doctrine" and remains a gift.
It works the same either way.

Regardless of whom wins the ticket, someone will need to pay the IRS for winning.

If you won and gave your winnings to your church you would be able to deduct your contribution on schedule A so you no longer pay taxes on those winnings.

I'd be careful of trying to screw the IS out of anything. They have a lot of power to screw things out of you.

And they always get their cash in the end
