OXYCLEAN, Trust me on this one. My ex-g/f had a little monthly accident on our brand new white bed and I used it on there and you would never had known that it was there.

Don't know what kind of ink. If ball point ink try spraying hairspray on it and blot sprayed area with clean cloth. Take care to not smudge or spread stain. Test hidden area of carpet to know if color fast before doing any stain removal.

Oxyclean is pretty good too depending on the kind of ink.

The type of ink may well dictate what you used to remove it as well as what your carpet is made of. I would consider type of ink and what the carpet fiber is and then act accordingly. Hair spray works great on clothing that is polyester and or combined with cotton. Proceed with caution.

i dont know much about hairspray because im a guy but wont it make the carpet all hard? just a thought

anyway use denatured alcohol or acetone, available at ace or lowes. once you saturate it blot it with paper towels but sont vacuum it because the vapors could be ignited buy the electric motor.

A good sharp knife. Then you can patch the missing piece with some of the scrap you saved from when they installed the carpet.

I do this for washables and it might work for carpet. Spray with hairspray and then apply some detergent and water. Works wonders on fabrics. Good luck.
