I believe we are part of an experiment. I am not sure what the experiment is but we seem to have been put here already equipped with science, art and rules. Every culture has hand me down history of Gods of some sort or another comming from the heavens, the stars or the sky. This is common to the beliefs of the Aztecs, Incas, Ancient Greeks, Egyptians and each branch of the Bible worshippers.

From the Bible we are told that we were descended from Adam and that Eve was taken out of Adam Genesis 2.23, that can only be a description of cloning. The tree of knowledge sems like a primitive description of a computer and the forbidden fruit which endowed Adam and Even with knowledge so that they lost their innocence seems a bit like Windows to me.

From time to time throughout history we have encountered things that change all of us. The discovery of Astronomy, Medicine, Electricity, Flight, Radio, Nuclear technology and many more things seem to have dropped in on us too suddenly to have been understood without help from people who already knew about what we were trying to grasp for the first time. On the other hand pandemics like the plague, AIDS and Avian flu seem hard to explain because they seem to come from nowhere and historically disappear into nowhere too, as if they were introduced as a test, like dropping cosmetics into beagles eyes at a lab to see what will happen if we do,

I think we are test rats in a lab.

80% of humanity, the religious folks, don't need to ask the meaning of life, the church tells them....the supernatural explanation. But the rest of us can't swallow religious dogma, because there's no evidence. Nobody can prove that there life after death, that people are tortured or rewarded after life or that there's invisible spirits running around.

I've come to two conclusions recently:

1. Life has no meaning
2. Life has a million meanings.

First, there's a certainty that death and annihilation awaits not only you, but the Earth in general. It's an astonomical certainty that our sun will supernova and leave the earth a burnt crisp, not to mention all the other extinction level events around the corner.

Second, the million things that give us meaning are the pleasurable experiences we can conjure up during the short period we are here on the earth, in the form of the relationships we have with our kids and other people, and the 'housekeeping' types of purposes. What i mean by that are the curing disease, ending hunger, improving literacy, reducing crime, preventing war, helping other kinds of things.

So the bottom line is, we only have a temporary meaning to life, to reduce pain and increase pleasure, other than that everything is lost to oblivion.

To be or not to be? "To be" is temporary and "not to be" is inevitable

Life is for learning. We are all on a journey, I guess the more kindness you do the more Brownie points in the afterlife. I expect we come back lots of times to experience the things we didn't in the previous life. I believe there are seven planes the first one being mudflats for the evil souls where they stay until they repent then move up a plane.
The more one prays for strength, the more problems are sent to see how one copes with them.
I also believe in Karma.....what goes around comes around.

Life is like a puzzle.
We have a picure of what it should be from the Bible and as we put the pieces together correctly it becomes a beautiful masterpiece.

Genesis 2:7
"And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life and man became a living being"

Life is a biological accident, resulting in sentient beings asking questions like this one. Sentient beings perfuses like gas into any available space, including abstract ones, so that no question is unasked. For example this question, "Why do we keep asking ourselves what is the meaning of life?" Here's another one, "After someone has explained to us what's the meaning of life, will we stop asking that question?". Still another, "If someone proved that there's no meaning to life, does that mean there's no purpose to life and we might as well die now?" That's the kind of things sentient beings ask when they're bored and the abstract space is very large with places to explore.

Life is a series of events that occur before death. Perception is the understanding behind it. We're all so caught up in ourselves that we forget that the rest of the world and everything in it, is experiencing along with us.
