I recently recieved some Prismacolor Water Soluble Pencils for sketching and drawing, but I don't fully understand how to use them. They say full range of wet and dry techniques but what does all of this mean? Can't I just use the pencil like a pencil !?

You can both wet the tip of your pencil and see what you get or can use it as a regular pencil and then use a wet brush to give a watery effect to what you're doing. With time and practice, you'll intuitively find better ways to use the pencil so you get the best effects water can give you.

get a little water on your pencil, or on the mark it made on the paper, and smoosh it around with the edge of your finger. See how it gets blurry and softer? Neat, huh.

Yes, you can use your pencil as a pencil, ear wax remover, noisemaker, hair-accessory or whatever you would do with any other pencil.

Why don't you be daring and play with the pencils to see what they will do? Get off the computer and go draw!
