Why is it okay to be proud of your ethnicity, as long as your not white?

Myspace has latin pride icons, brown pride graphics, black pride, but not one single White Pride anything.

White racial pride is not a bad thing itself, but white pride and dominance is so freely expressed in every aspect of American society, and most of the other races are often subjugated by whites that the only morsel of dignity they have is to espouse equality in racial pride.

Whites are a majority by number and control in almost every way possible the daily outcomes of the lives of the minorities.

So, why can't whites just not be sooooo hateful and let the minorities have some form of dignity, for God's sake.
(but then again he doesn't exist so no conscience envoked with that cry)

It's not enough to control everything; but then again that's why people hate the euro/white race all over the world, its arrogance is relentless. Not all whites but a great many.

I think whites should be proud of their race. I feel that the KKK and other white supremacist groups have taken white pride to a racist level over past century. Another thing is minorities have obviously been mistreated in the past and the whole having pride for your ethnicity is a way for rebuilding our culture. Living in America there a signs of white ethnicity everywhere. I no this may sound bad for white folks, but your ancestors kind of put y'all in this predicament.

I think it kinda sucks that white people cannot express pride in their race without being considered racists. I think the problem is that the KKK and other white supremecy groups has taken the term "White Pride" and twisted into something different, and now the term "white pride" is soley associated with racists..

i agree with other posters. "white pride" has been hijacked by jerks, unfortunately. however, there needs to be more whites out there celebrating their "white pride" in a way that keeps the racists out! It would be better for everyone- it would help diminish the racists' power, and give everyone more sense of equality. So i agree. make one, then do your damnedest to keep the freaks out of it.

(in "black" groups, people work hard to keep the crazies out as well, such as Nation of Yahweh, etc, those sorts of people. don't help anyone)

To the people who say the white race enslaved the black race:

That is true that that happened... but the black race also enslaved the black race (tribal wars in africa--they take prisoners to be slaves) and that happened before the white race took the black race.

Also, white race enslaved whites. Every race has had slaves at some point in time or another, and sadly human trafficking and forced labor, sex slaves, etc. still exist today.

As for the question, good point. It seems as if whites are expected to always feel guilty for being white.

We live in a white world. White pride is portrayed in every aspect of our society ... be it television, cinema, print, government, our social structure, down to the way our educational system is set up. Society sees the results of "white pride" and white supremacy at every turn.

When other ethnicity's choose to display and or express pride, it is self-edification, self-love and self-promotion. Not to TAKE AWAY FROM, but to ADD TO.

In the UK, the National Front and the British National Party have made it something to be ashamed of to be British.

Unfortunately, white pride includes a history of the enslavement of the black race for 350 years or so. Had it not been for that enslavement, there would be no need for racial pride, among ANY race. To me, black pride exists to attempt to replace what was lost. In the case of the black race, to show us that, although slavery was horrible, we can overcome that cruel history and go forward. That we are people of value and that the centuries of slavery may have crippled us, but it does not have to destroy us.

We already know the history of pride in the white race. The entire 350 years of slavery of the black race shows us how proud the white race was.

Devan - I would be the last person to expect white people to feel guilty about being white. What I do feel though, is that the white race already has a history of seeking to show that they were/are superior to minorities, so the "official" showing of white pride seems pretty unnecessary.

To whoever gave me a thumbs down for my answer, I consider it a compliment.

Well, sadly, the term "White Pride" was hijacked by the Neo-Nazi/ Skinhead/ Klan/ racist crowd.

But here in California it's just not PC to be proud of Euro-Ethnicity... okay let me rephrase that... it's not PC to be proud of Anglo-Germanic Ethnicity.

And GOD (forgive me ACLU) help you if you're white and MALE !!
