We have green tile (faux marble) with dark green grout in the bathroom. It's looking bad but I'm afraid to make it look like camouflage after cleaning.

Try a hand-held steamer. You can find them at Target for around $30.00. The steam shouldn't remove the color, but test it in an inconspicuous spot first.

Unless the surface of the grout was stained dark green, as opposed to the grout itself being dark green - which is much more likely - you will not discolour your grout by cleaning it unless you use a chlorine product (bleach, e.g.) which could take some of the colour out. Use any product made to remove mildew and soap scum such as Tilex.

I swear by Borax!!! It's pretty cheap and can clean a ton of things!!! It's in the isle by the laundry soap at most stores.
