I heard it was an excellent movie, wondering if I could take a 7 and 9 year old to see it.

I have not seen the movie yet but MPAA list the rating with a warning on language. You can go to the MPAA web site for more information on what that might mean.

I thought it was an excellent movie. I believe it is rated PG-13 because there is a seen where Will Smith is walking with his son on the streets of San Francisco - they are looking at the graffiti on buildings - Will Smith makes the comment about "happiness" being spelled "happyness". His son notices the "F" word on a wall and wonders if that is spelled correctly. Really kind of funny - however it your choice if you want your child exposed to that. That is really the only scene in this movie that some would call "adult".

We took our kids from our Christian School to see it - however only from 6th - 12th grades.

According to the MPAA it's: "Rated PG-13 for some language."

there is a little bit of profanity, but not a lot and not uncalled for either. Our 7 year old went with us to see it (we never had to shield her eyes or anything). It is a very good movie - and a story of powerful determination.

I think it is because of the fact that these people are living on the side of the road. That is hard for a five year old to handle. That is a very serious situation to deal with.

i saw it yesterday and i don't think that it's that bad but they do say the f word once or twice, just so you know. besides it's a movie that i don't think that little kids can sit through. but you could give it a try. good luck!:)

There's just a little bit of cussing, that's all. The f-word is said a few times. If you can get past that, then it would be ok for your kids to see.

it is pg-13 for showing poverty and how poor people are. it may be good for your kids to see so they can show that if you work hard anything is possible
