No, they are actually random pieces of paper they stuff into the cookies for fun. Just for your information, the fortune cookie thing started in American's Chinatown as a sales gimick. They don't have such things in mainland China.

Sometimes yes and sometimes no. I once got a fortune that said that I was going to be rich real soon and it never came true, because I am still poor. I also got one that did come true one time, so maybe if you wish real hard your fortune will come true to.
