There is no doubt that the paparazzi are making life hell for Kate Middleton as the longstanding girl friend of Prince William.
Can they justify it? It is certainly of public interest.
Can the same ends not be met by public statements, and the release of photographs?
How would you compare the press coverage of Rosie West - conspirator in mass murder - and Kate Middleton, girlfriend of a Royal?

I guess it's about supply and demand. If there is a demand for pictures of Kate Middleton then there will be a supply. I also think it's the plight of the modern royal - possible princesses work, go out and lead pretty normal lives making it all very easy for the pressmen. Remember, Diana worked at a nursery or something so was out and about driving to work etc. In the 50's I think young 'ladeeez' of a certain class were known as debutantes and they certainly didn't work, just went to balls etc looking for titled husbands. Ironically enough, it's probably those who love the royals that snap up any magazine or newspaper that has a picture of one on the front. Perhaps in people started publicly boycotting mags that displayed photos of a hassled Kate, the hassling would stop. I can't comment on comparisons with Rose West, I wouldn't have thought there were any - did Rose shop at Jigsaw?

Kate Middleton enjoys the trappings of being the girlfriend of a royal - the down side is the press. She could of course help herself by not going to top night clubs where she knows full well the press are awaiting not just for her but for others too. She has to accept it or go out with a "commoner". The constant comparison with the self pro-claimed "queen of hearts" is ridiculous. Diana was killed in a car crash where the driver was drunk - happens to thousands of innocent people every year. Diane courted the press - even told them where she would be on some occassions - she craved attention. The paps did not kill her - take off the rose tinted glasses!

The truth is, Kate is going to have to learn to deal with the press. It is a harsh answer but the most logical. Fame comes with a price and she knew if she were to get involved with a prince who has grown accustomed to the media, that the press would be always hounding her every minute.

Press isn't forgiving, they live and thrive on gossip and stories that bring in the people's interest (that's how they see it anyways). I hate how that is, but that's the cold truth. Yes, there is no justification the press can make that bring this to reason.

As long as people keep buying newspapers and magazines with these pictures and reading every little detail of her then yes. The public gets what the public wants, and if it ends up with Kate in a clinic with a nervous breakdown then so be it.

there is one thing we all can do ?
stop buying news papers with Kate Middleton in and then the press will stop putting her in it !
what ? are they in it to make money or is it just for fun!
look if we all stop talking about Kate Middleton and stop my mag and news papers with her in it then the press will find a celebrity to pester instead
i wish then all the best and i pray that it will not end like
the queen of hart's

Completely justified - she hasn't got a proper job, spends all her time hanging out at Bougies in Kensington (per lease!) and only went to that university specifically to ensnare willie. He needs to sow his wild oats more - so if she is harrased out of the picture, so much the better - don;t want a repeat of what happened to Diana, do we?

well this is it doesn't take them long to fall into the royal way, amazing isn't, this guy can wonder around the forest killing deer, yet when it came to shooting things for his country it was to dangerous , probably give him a medal for shooting the biggest deer . personally the whole lot should be payed off and sent somewhere .......

its the publics fault, they are the ones who buy all the magazines. it was like the dress she was wearing on her birthday, they had sold out in top shop by four pm after her pic was in the paper. after all that i still think they shouldnt be alowed to haunt people. they wouldnt have been able to do that in the old days.

Every media outlet want to be to 'first' to report every move of every celebrity. The internet has pushed this type of intrusion up 1000%.
There is no justification for it.

The press does not care about how or what anyone feels
about their intrusion, photos or stories...
