Hi,
My hubby and I have been tyring to get PG for a while now. I have been off the b/c pill since Oct 21. With my periods coming abour every 32 days. We try and have sex every night, but something we don't and have it every 2nd night. So we don't miss the time I ovulate.
I am about 22 days into my cycle, I can't really even till if I have ovulated or not. I had sore nipples which happen around the same time each month, but not much else that is too different. I know being over weight can make it harder, however I am not over weight, but my hubby is very much so. Would this cause him to not be able to get me PG? Or cause him to have a low sprem count. He also has ashama and other anixitey problems, he is taking lots of meds. I am just wondering if he is infertile. I have one daugther from another relationship, so I don't think I would have any issuses. But I could!
Anyways, how long has it taken some other women to get PG after coming off the pill?
Also I am 26 and he is 35

I am 21 and my husband is 23 and it has taken us 6 months so far after being on the pill so I dont think age has anything to do with it.
If he takes alot of meds you might want to ask the Dr. about them but I dont think that is a problem either.
It might take some time after being of the birth control. Some women get pregnant right away so it just depends.
Try every other day to have sex instead of everyday so his sperm can build up.
Him being over weight doesnt matter.
Good luck and take care
oh yeah...It took me like 4 months to start ovulating after the pill.....

Be patient! You just started TTC!!! It takes a lot of couples up to 1 year to conceive. We tried for 2 years and 11 months and only succeeded after taking a round of 50mg of Clomid. You are young so that works in your favor. Have your husband take Centrum Performance multivitamins. You should also be taking a prenatal vitamin with folic acid. You might be able to get a sperm count done from your husband but most doctors won't discuss the possibility of infertility until you have been trying for 1 year to conceive. Also, try using ovulation predictor kits (the kind you pee on, not the ones you put on your tongue) as you may not ovulate when you think you do or should. Good luck.

You've only had 2, MAYBE 3 cycles since you've been off the pill- so relax!! The average couple takes 6 months, and it's not considered a problem until you've been trying a year. I've read that even if you have sex exactly when you're ovulating, you still only have a 25% chance of everything going perfect and getting pregnant. If you're having sex every single day, it sounds like you're taking the fun out of it. Just releax and enjoy it...there is nothing wrong with you. Good luck

i came off the pill in september and we have been TTC with no luck so far. im 29, hes 33. my hubby is also on meds, buts hes not overweight. i have 2 older children from my last marriage as well. we are trying the every other day thing and so far it hasnt worked. If im not pregnant this month, im going to start trying the ovulation predictor kits..also i recently found something you can buy at CVS/Walgreens that will tell you your husbands sperm count.....its worth a try! Maybe that will help you :) Good luck and baby dust!

Your husband's weight probably isn't an issue. If you are having sex every night, you are actually lowering his sperm count, since he is "getting rid" of any that he might have stored up.

Do you use an ovulation predictor, or do you know around what time you ovulate? You should have sex about 1 to 2 days before you ovulate for your best chance of getting pregnant. And if your hubby does something "in the shower" tell him NOT to. Tell him to save his little guys for sex.

A GREAT book to read is "Taking Charge Of Your Fertility" by Toni Weschler. It explains the best times to try to conceive, it explains signs to look for that your body gives out when getting ready to ovulate, etc. I definitely recommend this book!

You don't always get pg. right away. I got pg with my husband in 3 months than when I was 6 months I lost the baby now this will be the third month trying hopefully we will be successful this time!

try taking ovulation tests to determine the best time to concieve. they are around $20 for 7. the directions tell you when to take them acording to your cycle lenght. I wouldn't worry about fertility quit yet, it takes many normal healthy couples over a year to get pregnant!
