It is not known whether Percocet appears in breast milk, possibly harming a nursing infant.
However I can tell you that my wife was prescribed Percocet for all three of her post pregnancies by her doctor, who knew she was breastfeeding, and she had no complications.
All three of our children were breastfed EXCLUSIVELY my wife took the percocet with all three for about 10 days and all three are healthy and normal. Under a doctor's supervision it is okay. You should discuss any uneasiness about pain medications and breastfeeding with your doctor as they are trained to answer these questions better than us Yahoos on Yahoos who blindly answer things like this with...
NEVER!!!
NO!!
YEP!!
and no but since you aren't going to use it could you give them to me?
Did some digging after my intial answer and found this:
According to Dr. Hale's Medications and Mother's Milk , Percocet/ Acetaminophen Oxycodone hydrochloride is considered a L3 which is Moderately Safe. No reports of untoward effects in infants have been found though sedation is a possiblility in some infants.
Usual dosage is 5-10 mg every 4-7 hours. Hale figures at the highest dosaging the infant could receive at most 2% of the dose through the breastmilk.

Doctors have spent many years studying and passing tests in order to treat their patients and prescribe medicine. Listen to your doctor! My doctor gave me percocet when I was breastfeeding because the pain from my vaginal tearing was so bad that I could not move or sit without them. My baby is perfectly healthy and I have not seen any negative side effects from the percocet. If you are concerned with taking the percocet, call your doctor and tell him or her your fears. You may have other options, or your doctor may be able to give you all the facts about the percocet so you can make your own choice.

When I had my baby the doctor gave me percocet to ease the pain. I just had a vaginal birth, but they gave me 2 percocets every four hours while I was in the hospital and then sent me home with a prescription for it. I was breastfeeding and they knew it. I don't think they'd give me a medication that would harm the baby. I'm sure a little gets into the breast milk. While I was taking it my baby was a little sleepy, but he's a healthy, crazy 8 month old now.

I had a c-section and was given percocet for the pain.I told the doctor I was breastfeeding. They said that it should be fine but some of it does pass on to the baby, usually making them a little bit drowsy. I had no issues with my baby and he seemed very alert from day one.But I would address all of your concerns with your doctor.

Percocet is rated as a "L3" in the book "Medications & Mothers' Milk" by Thomas Hale. Hale is THE expert on what is safe to take while nursing.
L3= moderately safe. (Ratings go from L1 as safest to L5 as a big no-no.)
Percocet is a trade name for the drug Oxycodone.
Per Hale.....
"No reports of untoward effect in infants have been found although sedation is a possibility in some infants."
Observe your child for any signs of sedation, but it is FINE to take.
ETA:
Your local La Leche League Leader and/or Lactation Consultant is an EXCELLENT source for information on drug safety while breastfeeding.

NO.....does the doctor know your breastfeeding?......Please don't......it will pass through to your baby.
I would consider finding a new doctor if he did know and still prescribed them. Good Luck !!!
