Everytime I've tried to gauge it up to a 4 its been a very long painfull process, unlike the other times. Is there anyway I can speed up the process or make it less painfull or smooth? I've been using 4 gauge tapers but it still is not quite cutting it...

when i did mine, i bought the horseshoe tapers, that way you can go slower and band them where theyre comfortable until youre ready to move them again. also try emu oil and bacitracin as a lubricant, it makes the process much more bearable.

I was such a wimp about stretching my ears to the point where I couldn't do it to myself. I went and paid the piercer to do it for me ($5 plus jewelry and tip). I just can self inflict pain!
