I loved the movie and I thought that JLo did an awesome job portraying Selena as a smart courageous, beautiful, talented woman whose life was cut short much to the loss of all who enjoyed her special style. Her music was wonderful and I think that a person such as the lovely JLo who may have experienced some of what Selena did breaking into show business as a latino was a perfect role. We need more role models like both of these woman and less like the talentless, vapid, airheads like Paris.

I read a book on JLO and she wanted the part of Selena so badly.JLO is Puerto Rican and Selena was a Tejana.There was some talk about whether JLO could do justice to Selena,but when the director,Gregory Nava ,saw JLO be Selena,he said it was like Selena herself was in the room.Selena's parents said they almost believed it was Selena.JLO also said she was always embarrassed over her large latino butt.She said it was like two potatos on a stick! Selena wasnt,and always wore tight fitting clothes.So JLO had to wear the tight fitting clothes too,and learned to be proud of her backside.She got $1million for the role.

I'd have to say in a good way because they have very similar voices and it seemed in the movie that JLo tried to relate to Selena's life as much as she could :)

Mmmmhhhhh musically speaking JLO needs to walk a long path to be compared with Selena. I think they casted her for that movie because of the physical resemblance, nothing else.

I think she did a good job- I never even knew anything about Selena until I seen that movie. And d*m JLo got a big 'ol butt too.

Sandy L is right. Jennifer portrayed Selena beautifully. She made me watch Selena at least five times, she was so wonderful.

I LOVE the movie Selena, and Jennifer Lopez did an awesome job playing the part. She is not one of my favorite actresses, but I do not think they could have cast anyone better!

I think she did good; she looked like she really understood how Selena was. I enjoyed the movie.
