-will your baby see the same doctor every time, or one of 2 or 3 doctor's?
-if you call with a question, will you speak to a nurse or doctor?
-if you ask for doctor to call you to speak to them about a concern, will you just get a nurse or will a doctor be able to call you back?
-are the urgent care appts available on weekends? (some peds have urgent care appts on saturday, but no well baby vists.)
-how far ahead do you need to schedule appts, either sick or well baby?
-are vaccinations done at the office, or do you need to go to local hospital?
-are they included in your insurance coverage?
-co-payments?

these are about all i can think of at the moment...
hope it helps!

take care.

First of all the person should be somebody that you feel comfertable with. A pediatrician and you should be working together as a team for what is best, for your child.

Second of all you should make sure that they are not so old that they will more then likely retire. It would be great if you did not have to change doctors after your child gets used to one.

The third thing you should look at is there experiance with kids. Are they just a pediatrician, or are they a family practicioner. Both has its pros and cons. The good thing about a pediatrician is that children are there specialty, while family practicioners are good for if you want to keep your child in the same office that you go to. It depends on what you feel most confertable with.

You should look for someone that has the same views with you on your child health issues. It would be hard to work with someone that has diffrent Ideas on bottle or breastfeading then you.

Look at office hours. You never know when you are going to need an appointment for your little one. You dont want a doctor who is in a local office for only 2 days and then in an office that you have to drive over an hour for the other days.

Most do but make sure that the office has an oncall doctor around the clock that has experiance in the pediactric feild. You never know when you are going to need to talk to a doc about your little one.

Last go with your instincs. If something tells you that it is not going to work out then move on to the next one

Congrats and good Luck

properly to be in classic Wicca, it did initiate with Gardener. From that element some did chop up off and initiate new traditions. After those human beings desperate they did not desire or perchance could not stumble on a coven regionally. it is the place the solitary got here in. interior that identify human beings can p.c.. and choose to make their very very own custom, notwithstanding if no person else follows it, that's theirs. not something incorrect with that throughout the time of any respect so a techniques as i'm in contact yet there are various classic varieties that would desire to argue that element. i chanced on the traditions to be too stricked for me. i did not like not having the liberty to circulate the place i wanted with a ritual. So I went on the solitary direction. Now I particularly won't be in a position to assert that my direction is remotely Wiccan. To the element in spite of the undeniable fact that, no Gardener isn't the only thank you to be Wiccan. EDIT: i admire what labgrrl has reported with regards to the historic previous. one element that i found out purely these days is that i think everybody is taking issues out of contexted. while somebody says Wicca has that's roots in historic situations, what i think they're saying is that the Gods and Goddesses that are worshipped. reason truly there is not something approximately Wicca different than that that would desire to be seen historic. everybody is interpreting into the historic previous what they desire. they decide to experience like they're following some historic faith like it supplies it extra validity. Feeling mushy on your ideals does not not require absolutely everyone else's approval.

Ask how long they've been a pediatrition, ask why they got into pediatrics specifically, and then observe. Does the doctor talk directly to your little one, feel comfortable handling your baby, feel comfortable answering your questions... ask about risks and anything you should be watching for to bring your baby in to see the doc... if he bypasses this question, or makes light of it, find another doc... it means that he/she will pooh pooh your every inquiry later during their practice.

First and foremost TRUST your instincts. If you don't feel comfortable for any reason, go somewhere else. You should be able to ask questions and get satisfactory answers.

If you have any special issues (ex. you are vegan, you plan on a home delivery, you refuse medication, etc.) you should discuss them with the doctor and make sure they will support your choices.

Look into their insurance policies.

Congratulations and good luck.

Make sure its not an office with more than one doctor. You will get shuffled around in a big practice. I made that mistake with my daughter. I found an office with just one doctor and he is great!!!. One nurse, one receptionist and one doctor. He also has several different specialties which helps.
I found that having several receptionist is not wonderful. They dont know who your child is and they lose paper work.
Make sure its a younger doctor too who is up with the times and knows all new treatments and theories.

What vaccination schedule they suggest following. How the would feel if you wanted to delay or skip a shot.

If they have evening and weekend hours.

How they support breastfeeding moms. Do they have a Lactation Consultant on staff or one they would refer you to?

How long they've been in practice. If they have kids of their own.

Honestly i've changed pediatricians about 3 times since my 5 year old son was born but I was able to find somone that me and my son love. It's really dependant on how comfortable you and your child feel with the doctor.

You should ask what degrees they have in medicine. You might also want to ask how many patients he/she has. What days are they open. Do they keep a steral envioronment in the rooms and in the waiting room?

First of all I will only take my child to female doctors. The men don't listen and just blow you off. I have had a couple great female Peds (moved).
Then when you talk to them ask them about their philosophies on antibiotics, nutrition, etc., things you are concerned about, and if they seem to be in line with your beliefs then you and your child will probably have a good experience.
