How do I find newspaper articles on a prison escapee in New York between 1960 and 1970?

The prisoner I am trying to find is Russell Hardesty.

Try doing a search for Russell on Yahoo or Google. If that doesn't work, go to the Public Library, they should be able to help you.

Search for newspapers in the community near the prison from which he escaped. then you need to access their morgues to search for the information. Libraries may also provide access to papers on microfilm.

You could try the New York Times archives.. . they have records of articles from 1851 - present.
