Mpeg4 is not recognised on standard dvd players unless it is a divx or avi player.
The standard that a dvd uses is basically the older mpeg2. You need to get something that will convert avi to dvd
take a look at the tutorials at http://www.videohelp.com it also has a section on DVD players that will tell you what your dvd player can play

You can't just burn an MPEG to a DVD and think it will play in your DVD player. There is a certain file structure associated with a DVD that your player is going to look for. Get a program like Nero or Ulead's DVD Creator software. They all have free 30 day trials.

its not the dvd disc thats the problem here , its cus its an mp4 format is the reason it wont play , some of the latest players will play this format but most wont , so you need to convert it back to its original format then transfer it on to a disc , you could always down load it on to your phone ? as mp4 is the corect format for most phones , good luck !
