Chewing is natural in guinea pigs...their teeth are constantly growing and need to be worn down. Try putting small branches from fruit trees inside their hutch. But first make sure that the trees have not been sprayed with chemicals...this could make your guinea pigs sick.
Lots of attention, and plenty of other interesting toys to play with and chew should help to keep their hutch intact.
In the warmer weather, they can be put into a covered run in the garden. Always place the run onto grass that has no buttercups (poisonous to guineas) and has not been cut within the last 24 hours...cut grass releases toxins which can upset a guinea s tummy. Also, ensure that dogs or cats have not fouled the area where you are placing the run, as this can also cause upset tummies.
All these should help reduce the toll on their hutch.

Some guinea pigs seems to love chewing on the bars of their cages. My Patches will do that when he thinks I'm preparing his supper(veggies) or when he's hungry. You can add a Chew Tube(the kind that looks like a big tunnel they can crawl through) and they can chew on that and you can also get other type of chew toys like Big Branch Bites that my piggies enjoys. Also if you have adult guinea pigs, you can use a empty toliet paper roll and stuff it with Timothy hay makes a really nice chew toy for them depending on there size. Now these things helps him to cut back on his chewing on bars but he still the kind of piggy that can't break the habit.

I know that they have products for puppies to keep them from chewing & ferrets too it's called bitter apple; maybe you can try rubbing a little bit of that on the area of the cage - I'm sure that it will be ok to use since it's designed for a small pet already you might want to ask if you purchase it just to be sure though. Also - try letting them out of their cage a little bit more ? we had a teacher in 5th grade that bought a small childs swimming pool & filled it will bedding & toys for the guinea pig to play in durring the day so maybe that will help. Good luck :]]

Guinea pigs will usually chew out of boredom. What size is the cage? For two pigs, you need a bare mimimum of 7.5 sq feet. 10.5 or larger is preferred. If they're in a cage that is too small, they will become bored very easily. See www.guineapigcages.com Do they have unlimited timothy hay? That will keep their teeth down, not chews.

Give them a branch from an apple tree to chew on. Is the cage plastic? If so, sorry to say, you'll have to get rid of it. You can't have them eating a plastic cage, £80 or not. Next time get a wooden cage (if you haven't already) and don't varnish it in the places where they will chew (e.g. around the doors, edges of walls etc.).

Guinea pigs are rodents and their teeth continue to grow throughout their life time. These critters need something to chew to wear down their teeth. Get them small tree branches to chew on. It may help but they are also habitual so they may not stop chewing the cage. But try the tree branches, they are fond of cherry or any kind of fruit tree..

Honestly, I'm not sure there's anything. It might be a mineral deficiency, try giving them some Vitamin C, if you're not already. I have had the same problem ever since I got my guinea pig almost two years ago and are still working on it. Here's a bunch of things you can do that might distract them:

Good luck, I hope you come up with something!

Rub some lemon juice on the bars. But don't forget to get them something to chew on to replace. Ask your local pet store tech. for the best thing for them to chew on as it is necessary for them to do so.
Good luck
