The saying that when you are young, you need to be a socialist, otherwise you will be regarded as having no heart. But when you are older, if you are still a socialist, then you will be regarded as having no head.

I've never heard that saying... But my values (politically speaking) are firmly entrenched in civic nationalism and liberal democracy. There needs to be some kind of mediator between the heart and the head no matter what age you are.

May be not so powerful as imagined. Your job will eventually put you in a position that create a social environment that is easy to deal with.
Antisocial personality's make it hard to deal with.

Very,very good question. I believe that honesty is always the best policy, and if you hold to that, over time it will pay off. I believe in the concept of paying it forward. Only I try to pay it forward ten fold. Meaning, for every great thing someone does for me, I will do many great things for many others. Over time of living in this way, I have seen it pay off, not only physically paid off, but spiritually and emotionally as well.
