Thank you all for sharing your thoughts on this matter:
In the past year or so, fighting for the rights of staff (staff level refers to non-managerial level) received popularity by higher management for the wrong reasons.
In practice, entrenched managerial staff levels were trying to keep their job positions although they were no longer contributing half as much as their junior counterparts to the company’s bottom line.
Management’s justification for increased remuneration whilst fixing the staff salary and wages was justified by the age old self promotion tag line, that the effort was all theirs, conveniently leaving out the division and departments.
Incidentally, key ideas for improvement of the bottom line and largely, the implementation measures did not come from management, which in part explains the high staff turnover.
