On the basis of three or four seasons, he certainly rates near or at the top. He has all types of scoring potential as well; however, what you are going to get by crowning him as the best are arguments from those who say he hasn't played long enough to be considered the best. It is like saying Gale Sayers is the best of all time based upon his shortened career. If I had to choose one running back I would choose Barry Sanders. He was durable, exciting, and talented. LT is not that far behind any of the top running backs if he plays a few more productive years.
And fyi, Jonny C- How can you put Tiki Barber, Shaun Alexander, and Curtis Martin ahead of Walter Payton, Jim Brown, Tony Dorsett, O.J. Simpson, or even Marshall Faulk?

LT is great but you have to look over an entire career.. I'd go with Walter Payton..In 1985, Payton rushed for over 1500 yards, while helping the Bears’ establish the league’s second best offense. Payton and the Bears’ cruised to a 15-1 record, which culminated with a 46-10 victory over the New England Patriots, at Super Bowl XX.

No, here is the list of the RB I can remember that are better than LT, (LT may move up the list as his career goes on)
Jim Brown, Emmitt Smith, Walter Payton, Tony Dorsett, John Riggins, Barry Sanders, O.J., Roger Craig, Marcus Allen...and I'm sure there are more that I'm forgetting.

How about Barry Sanders or Eddie George or even Emmitt Smith? If even dare I say it? O.J. Simpson?
Tiki Barber and The Bus, Jarome Bettis is pretty good at one point in his career. RB's are special...but can only take the load for so long. See how good Edgerin James was with Indy, but now he's gone, and not much on sports headlines. So depends if LT decides to stay with the Chargers!

He has a LONG way to go b 4 he can be considered the best of all time. I would have to guess that you are rather young......you may want to look in the past for some of the best....LT is really good, but he has some catching up to do.

I'll save this argument for when LT is breaking the all-time rushing record.
It irritates me to know end when a player comes along and is proclaimed the "greatest ever".
How about if he was to blow out both knees and retire next year?

Barry Sanders without dout. He never had a good O-line and still got it done. Put Barry on lets say the Cowboys or the Packers and this question wouldn't be even aksed.
