Believe me, I live here, it's not.

Not just Louisville and Lexington, but even the small towns throughout the state (i.e. Fulton, Owensboro, Corbin, Frankfort) have some of the nastiest, sourless, impolite jerks anywhere. I've met people from Michigan, Dallas, Maryland, and NYC that had much more class and manners than most of the people from KY. Not long after you leave KY and cross into TN, it's like a whole different world; anywhere from Texas and Oklahoma to Tennessee and the Carolinas, Southern hospitality is alive and well.

I always smile, I'm friendly, and use good manners ("yes ma'am, no sir, etc.) Somebody explain this to me...

I spent a bit of time in KY a few years back and I enjoyed the people I met. I have to say that I had 2 of the best potlucks of my life there - not sure the name of the town I was in, I think they made the ginger ale Ale 8 One. They were great people. And I liked the little smiley faces on the licence plates. (at least I think that was in Kentucky)

i have met individuals from Maryland and really Michigan that were Jerks, so our reviews are diverse . I stay in northern Ky and said a recommend lively undertone too. all the "immigrates" from the better states frequently settle around the borders and slowly migrate south as housing needs are depleated. anybody is diverse, some individuals are in simple terms undeniable bitter. you save on declaring sure sir, sure, ma'am and such. do not enable this replace the way you seem to were raised. This good habit is a mirrored image on you. Their undesirable habit is a mirrored image on them. playstation : U R proper, the better south you get, the friendlier the human beings are, truly texas

Shame on you. I happen to live in KY also, born and raised, and I happen to live in a small town. I have traveled extensively all over the U. S. and outside and I have to say there is no place like home.

Kentucky is a very friendly state. Personally...if you want to know what the problem is....stand still, draw a circle on the ground around yourself, and look inside of it. You will find the problem.
