Why do we hate our neighbors, friends, and family because they do not agree with our political views. What was the official cause of this great Nation to split. Immediately following 911 we came together as one, but since then, we have split apart mostly due to political views. Will it take another event like 911 for us to agree again and become one Nation?

I don't. I have plenty of friends, neighbors, co-workers, and family members who have opposing political beliefs to mine. I am tolerant and respectful of their beliefs as long as they are of mine. Just because someone doesn't agree with me politcally doesn't make them a bad person in my eyes.

I hope it doesn't take another 911. It seems that there are people out there who are trying to pretend that 911 didn't happen. Or why it happened.

We will never agree politically--but we have the freedom to disagree. We need to remember that we have that freedom and put it to good use to benefit all Americans.

I think a good bit of the political drama is stirred up by a combination of the media and Hollywood actors who get up there on the soapbox and use their influence to speak about something they know nothing about. I'm not worried, though; the majority of Americans can see right through that. Good will pervail.

I agree with Blue "Steel & Lace"! Once the Republicans were given the White House by the Supreme (Conservative) Court in 2000, and Bush started to divide the country with his "Mean-Spirited" policies and perspectives concerning race, religion, politics, gender, and economics, it's been all "down hill" ever since. Clinton left a balanced budget and a Social Security surplus, only to be squandered by the Bush Administration and it's mismanagement of the nation's budget. He was able to garner support by offering pseudo-tax cuts and kick backs to Corporations and Businesses as well as the Wealthy, with no real incentives to the working classes, but with empty promises of a morally conservative agenda that would support traditional Christain values, and circumvent support of gays, minorities, affirmative action policies, and abortion. However he never disclosed that he would do whatever he could to shrink the "Middle Class" just short of destroying it, play politics with people's lives in distress from hurricanes Rita and Katrina, send us into a 6yrs. + war with a country that has never attacked us and would cost us well after his regime is over and gone, and give us no real solutions to real issues like: illegal immigration, the minimum wage rate, Police Brutality (against Minorities especially!), and Domestic Terrorism. He took noble causes and shrouded them in immorality.

I'm sure that ultimately we will learn that Abortion is acceptable under certain circumstances, no one should be discriminated against, Government should look like the people that it represents with a blend of philosophies and cultures true to real Democracy and Balance, and Christian values should be upheld by this Christian Country.

I have always struggled with the question, "How can Conservatives/ Republicans be Christian?" As I would tend to think that they would ultimately see someone like Jesus as weak and too liberal for them to tolerate. After all he did preach tolerance, forgiveness, redemption, love, charity, responsibility, discipline, courage, and peace! It's time for America to wake up and walk the walk! We've heard the talk, smelled the coffee, and it doesn't taste good...

America is a great country and traditionally a very insular country, infact many Americans failed to realise that a world actually existed beyond Alaska...since 9/11 that has become even more noticabe but America has woken up to the fact that a whole big world operates beyond the U S of A.
Arguably the main reason America has become divded is the monkey boy of a president looming large in his big toy tank that has caused such a rift..although i do agree we have to wage war on terror and what happened on 9/11 was dreadful there are ways of going about it rather that gun ho ra ra ra..

Before you accuse me of being a lily livered liberal, that could not be further from the truth....but I do not agree with obliterating a country for oil profits.

You were bamboozled right from the get go.

This is what politics do...they conquer and divide...don't you wish you had voted all those years you passed?

You're worried about taxes...? Wait till you see the bill for THIS war!!!

You cant blame the democrats for that...although yes, they'll likely be the ones left to clean up the mess.

Awakenings are brutal aren't they.

I suggest when voting in 2008 that you not look so far left or right but pick somewhere in the middle which is where most Americans live.

It really makes my abdomen turn seeing numerous get 'into politics' and they don't even understand what they are vote casting for under because they are sticking to party strains. You ask numerous human beings what their party's guidelines are, and they don't have any clue. Ever when you consider that I registered to vote in HS, I really have not in any respect committed to at least one party or yet another. I not in any respect had to be 'locked' into everybody (and featuring self sufficient). i have voted throughout the time of party strains my complete vote casting existence and performance been more than chuffed that way.

Good grief I hope not. It would appear that since 911 folks' have become more passionate about their beliefs. Whether right or wrong. It used to be "so what" if we were wrong, or aggravated with our government, we were living in a peaceful time and country.

Conflicts based on politics have been on-going for a long time. Cold war, etc. Check out some of the declassified CIA documents and you'll see that they were involved in toppling governments in the 70s. Imagine what we'll find out when documents from the last and this decade are eventually declassified.

I think we run our mouths a lot but if it came down to it. we would support each other. I know republicans. yeah i give them a hard time, but i still respect them. I respect anyone that makes informed decisions and hold strongly to their beliefs no matter what they be. I think it's the people that just don't care about these issues. You know the ones that vote for someone or support someone because they seem like a nice person or their husband told them to vote for them. Those are the ones that sadden me. but i still hate no human being.

The hatred is not so much based on party lines as it is views. I cant stand most liberals and their views and it just so happens that are mostly Democrats. I feel anger and hatred for fear that their liberal views will eventually destroy this great nation of our. I have seen this country go from a strong solid values based nation to a soft, week, i don't give a **** for anything but getting what i can for free nation. It pisses me off and all the people that use the I am a victim attitude piss me off to.

The Globalists' divide and conquer strategy to get the populations of sovereign nations to accept global government. They play the left vs. the right as they continue to win! Only you lose!
