Say Thank You, and in a caring way, hand him the cup. I would tell him that I had brought the coffee to him. smile and walk away.

I would tell them that I was getting ready to throw the cup away. I don't need the money and give it back to them.

Honestly, I'd be insulted. I'd probably get the 'OMG, what?!' look on my face for a second, but I'd try to hide it...Afterall, he was just trying to do a good deed, right? I'd say thanks (but hand it back), and probably walk off half in shock/half laughing.
